sarah's blog

The thing that i had trouble with in the begining was the differences between meiosis and mitosis.

  • mitosis results are two daughter cells but meiosis results are four cells

  • mitosis creats a diploid cell and meiosis creats a haploid cell

  • meoisis makes a sex cell

  • mitosis is a single cell

  • meoisis cells are in tetrads

  • things that happen in the cell

  • mitosis both chromosomes replicate-each DNA strand unzips into two strands

  • meiosis spindle fibers from centriole attach to one chromosomes of a matching chromosome pair

  • mitosis chromosomes line up spindle fibers starts to tug the chromosomes on opposite ends

  • meiosis chromosomes pairs line up

  • spindle fibers pull chromatids toward opposite ends of the cell

  • pairs seperate and across over

  • then on and on
