The thing that i had trouble with in the begining was the differences between meiosis and mitosis.
- mitosis results are two daughter cells but meiosis results are four cells
- mitosis creats a diploid cell and meiosis creats a haploid cell
- meoisis makes a sex cell
- mitosis is a single cell
- meoisis cells are in tetrads
- things that happen in the cell
- mitosis both chromosomes replicate-each DNA strand unzips into two strands
- meiosis spindle fibers from centriole attach to one chromosomes of a matching chromosome pair
- mitosis chromosomes line up spindle fibers starts to tug the chromosomes on opposite ends
- meiosis chromosomes pairs line up
- spindle fibers pull chromatids toward opposite ends of the cell
- pairs seperate and across over
- then on and on
